    Is this even possible?

    I presume the ''Coaxial'' you mention is referring to Digital? SPDIF?
    You may need a USB B to A converter Lead, but these may help.....................

    I've got a few converters surplus to requirements if you want to try one. Might not be able to get hold of a spare for a couple of weeks though.
