“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

the buttons you could get used to i think and the screen was visible from a few feet away . just would like to know where in the track it was , i listen to tracks lasting 30 mins and umpteen poeple ring me and i need to know where it stopped ...oh and i am not leaving it on pause for 30 mins
the remote was heavy and well made altho no eject button on remote

really funky seeing the transport lift up in the window . I only found the shop on off chance so sadly didnt hear it but no doubt if it sounds as good as it looks it will be good . I really liked the quality of the rca and aes outputs is a bonus

i did listen for drive noise as i also did with the cdt9000 in the shop [ richer sounds ] and both were deadly silent . of course there is 1000 pounds between the 2 but the AA looks the business

Not keen on the look of it, and having the controls underneath is the worst idea ever.

its looks superb in the flesh , i agree the controls are slightly quirky but more than makes up for in quality finish . if it had more info in display screen i would be very tempted . not much to match it . nearest equivalent is about 2.5k more !!! tray loading cd player with aes

The looks are a personal thing, but what where they thinking putting the controls underneath? I never use the remote so that matters to me. The remote for my TEAC is still in the wrapping.

The remote for my Marantz is in a drawer somewhere, I'll dig it out if I ever come to sell the player.

My excuse is that I need the exercise, and we do need to set a good example for our children. I fear that if we're not careful we will be rearing the first generation of fat streamers and giant gluteus gamers.

They will all end up looking like Jabba the Hutt - operating any remote or computer keyboard with a 'prehensile' tongue!
