Cheers Keith, free is very tempting you know

I'm not bothered about getting artwork or things like that on there, just the FLAC music file or WAV, probably the latter

By the way, I was looking on ebay for an E-SATA caddy & came accross this seller..

You might remember the boss has a bit of a fascination with jobbies so it seems

Go for EAC then Mark, I use it all the time for my rips but I do have dBpoweramp as well, which is use for converting .mp2 to .mp3. EAC will accurately rip to WAV and free is always good

This is good for default setup profile info, but there are lots of tips out there for EAC - just Google http://www.hifivision.com/portable-a...using-eac.html

Nice to see it'll rip to WAV This is just an experiment you understand, so I'll not be going too mad just yet, you never know what the future may hold though

Cheers for all the help Tim & Keith

Keep us informed Mark, as I have an OPPO on my list of wants for streaming both music and films from a NAS, so will be interested in what you think?

Sure thing Tim, this interest has only come about as I have discovered the online streaming thing using the MF V-Link.

I have tried CDs from the lappy drive & it's frankly not so good (loadsa glitches), but file based, even if it's on the web has appeared to be better even if it's an MP3 (though I have no way of knowing what I'm listening to on Grooveshark).

It did kind of get me thinking..

File based audio is the future Mark whether we like it or not

All music upload by users to Grooveshark is transcoded into an MP3 file with a minimum bit rate of 128 kbps.

There is something about it that I like, though I can't put my finger on what it is right now as it's early days & I need to gain more experience of it..

Cheers John, I'll bear that in mind as it's only an experiment, for now Good to see you about to fella!

I bought this cable a while back; it has been handy several times

Granted it can not Work with the heavier 3,5" drives as they likely Draw to much current for the eSATAp; in that case the drive will need it's own supply
