Conversation Between The Vinyl Adventure and Puffin

  1. Cracked it. After quite a few hours I found that it was ONE wire to one of the resistors that had got tied to ground! Right it now works as it should. I want to tidy it up now, but as I virtually rebuilt it, I need to make the innards look pretty again. I am afraid I like the inside to look as good as the outside. The other thing is that I want to try it in my system over the next week so that I can fine tune it with the trimmers.

So far as your system is concerned I assume that your CD player gives out 2v, what make and model is it. Do you know what sensitivity your speakers are?

I had to attenuate the volume control on mine with a resistor as mentioned on diyaudio as I could hardy move the volume control off it's minimum position without it blasting. It may be that you won't need it, but a certain amount of attenuation gives better control and a full sweep of the pot.
